Proudly representing the home nation of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in the UK.

I wasn’t able to complete the song I’d been writing for this year’s contest, so I delved into the archive and found ‘Storm’ for your delight and delectation. Nothing sophisticated about this one – as I recall, I’d just got Logic and wanted to try using one of the storm loops in a song.

Lyrics:

Stormy instrumental intro

Verse 1
You and I, we haven’t talked in such a long time.
I wish you’d tell me how you feel; what’s on your mind.
This situation can’t go on; it just isn’t right.
I want to take you in my arms and hold you so tight.
We keep avoiding this.
The pressure’s getting far too much for me.
I think this battle is coming on soon:

Chorus
I can feel a storm is coming. We will fight it out tonight.
Come and ride this storm together. Somehow we can make it right.
And we hurt, and we cry,
And we fight and we fight, and we don’t know why, yeah.
I can feel a storm is coming. Won’t you ride this storm with me?

Stormy instrumental interlude

Gotta transform; gotta beat this storm.

Verse 2
I try to look into your eyes, but you look away.
I really think that we should talk, but you’ve nothing to say.

Middle 8
When we’re together, you can cut the air with a knife.
This is the saddest I have ever felt in my life. In my life.

(This storm with me-he-he-he-he-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-he-ee-ee-ee-ee, this storm with me-he.)

Final thought, including stormy instrumental outro

I want to take you in my arms and hold you so tight.
