but there were also 3 FAAAB songs and all three could do very well in the final ;o)
it was very tough to decide who to give the douze to; and I can see those two doing extremely well in the final too...

Aargh! Too much pressure! - Nick D. - 2006-07-27 7:48:01pm
Actually, I thought I was going to struggle to find anything wonderful in semi 3, but I've found a run of three straight 10s. And I think that one of those three is the outstanding entry of the semifinals and could just win the whole thing...
- What is your favourite ALC entry about having sex with Maltese cyclists on a hot day (to a 1950s ESC song)? - Yair - 2006-07-27 10:12:18pm
- Refraine [R] - Frank - 2006-07-27 10:14:04pm

Shag, shag, shag little cyclists
Shag, shag, shag it!
There's a bike on a road
There's a road on an isle
There's an isle in the Med and it goes on for fricking miles!
Near that bike on a road
Near that road on an isle
There's a couple that's naked except for beaming smiles
Shag little cyclists, have your fun
Shag there in the Maltese sun
Shag little cyclists all day long
Sing your shaggy song!
There's a bike on a road
There's a road on an isle
Where two bodies are forming a somewhat unsightly pile
Near that bike on a road
Near that road on an isle
There is gonna be a public indecency trial
Shag little cyclists, have your fun
Shag there in the Maltese sun
Shag little cyclists all day long
Sing your shaggy song!
When the case comes to court and they're under escort
And the trial is adjourned pending psychiatric reports
They'll still think of those bikes on a road on an isle
And they'll still both be wearing those beatific smiles
Shag little cyclists, have your fun
Shag there in the Maltese sun
Shag little cyclists all day long
Sing your shaggy song!
Shag little cyclists, have your fun
Shag there in the Maltese sun
Shag little cyclists all day long
Sing your shaggy song!
- ROFL!!!! [R] - Frank - 2006-07-27 10:28:14pm
- 12 minutes and 50 seconds after Yair's post! :-D [R] - Nick D. - 2006-07-27 10:30:42pm
- So quick, in fact, that we can't even accuse you of having too much time on your hands! [R] - Richard_CT - 2006-07-27 10:33:48pm
- It was a miracle that everything worked first time on this one... - Nick D. - 2006-07-27 10:50:36pm
...the Med/meadow connection was pure dumb luck - I didn't have that in mind when I wrote it.
...the "psychiatric reports" line needed a bit of a run-up.
Everything else completely fell into place from the constraints Yair put on it. I was about to start work on Een Beetje, spotted UK '59 in the 1959 folder (because I'm organised like that), the title popped into my head and then it was like I was more or less typing up something that had already been written.
Nice feeling... it's usually *far* more of a struggle than that.
- OMG!! If you don't do well in ALC this year then it was on purpose! [R] - Yair - 2006-07-27 10:32:05pm
- I shouldn't reveal the finalists before the schedule says to :) [R] - Harrow - 2006-07-27 10:14:39pm
- "Follare", to Volare (Italy 58) [R] - LoboinMadrid - 2006-07-27 10:16:06pm
- I cannot wait for the ALC final. It will the highlight of my week :) - Josef - 2006-07-28 5:05:31pm
- Should be fun indeed :-) [R] - Jeremy - 2006-07-28 5:06:29pm
- Which semi do you think was best? For me was number two I guess :) [R] - Josef - 2006-07-28 5:07:26pm
- First....but I found some true gems in all 3 :-) [R] - Jeremy - 2006-07-28 5:09:13pm
- Me too! I just hope the automatic finalists deserve to be there! :)) [R] - Josef - 2006-07-28 5:10:12pm
- Of course they do! Tsk!!! :)) [R] - Frank - 2006-07-28 5:13:14pm
- hihi :))) [R] - Josef - 2006-07-28 5:14:16pm
- I am sure I will find favourite in final also :) [R] - Josef - 2006-07-28 5:12:43pm
- There was good stuff and rubbish in all, but the third seemed most imaginative to me [R] - ade - 2006-07-28 5:24:58pm
- For me number one - but as Jeremy says true gems in each semi! [R] - David in Hull - 2006-07-28 5:26:37pm
- Oh, yeah, I should probably vote....hehe [R] - carly in lund - 2006-07-28 5:42:30pm
A confession to make about ALC

Now that the semis are over I have to confess that this was my first attempt in ALC. I believe that this year the level of the contest is very high and I will be very happy if my entry enters the TOP15 in the semifinal that takes part.
Good luck to all the participants. :)
See you in the final. LOL
