You need something old, you need something new, you need something Swedish
Get out your pot, light up the stove, let it warm
The fridge is always empty, potatoes they will do
So let me fix you a nice old stew
When I stir I use a ladle
If I don’t the casserole will burn
Little pitchers they have big ears
But then so do you,
Irish stew
Add a tin flute, you’d wish it was mute and keep the pot boiling
Simmer away, taste it and pray that it’s ‘there’
Add a purple sausage, some cheese and orange hair
The mutton’s old but it’s dressed as lamb
When I stir I use a ladle
If I don’t the casserole will burn
They ate stew aboard Titanic
Lovely thing to do
The stew is ready and almost flogged to death
Now add a key change and extra breath
When I cook it’s for the hungry
When I’m done I’ll use the wire pad
If you like it you can have it
Go ahead my lad, Irish stew (Irish stew)
