Continuing on from his successful hosting of the competition the previous year, [[Andy Brook]] from the [[United Kingdom in the Home Composed Song Contest|United Kingdom]] organised the 2022 edition in cooperation with the reigning champion, [[CornEL]] from [[Romania in the Home Composed Song Contest|Romania]].
 
As in [[Home Composed Song Contest 2021|2021]], a total of 24 entries were submitted to the competition, although one was subsequently withdrawn. This left a field of 23 songs from 13 countries - including the return of [[France in the Home Composed Song Contest|France]] for the first time in over a decade, and [[Norway in the Home Composed Song Contest|Norway]] for the first time since 2004! Once again, the competition had its own dedicated website, this time at [https://home-22.com/ home-22.com].
 
The 23 competitor juries were supplemented by an internet-based public vote (shown as [[File:Gj1.png]] in the scoresheet below) and a total of four guest juries: Vladyslav Semenchenko, the President of OGAE Ukraine ([[File:Gj2.png]]); Liam Jarnecki from the United Kingdom, who co-hosted the result presentation shows in [[Home Composed Song Contest 2011|2011]] and [[Home Composed Song Contest 2021|2021]] ([[File:Gj3.png]]); a jury representing [http://radiointernational.blogspot.com/ Radio International], who provided their usual kind support for the competition ([[File:Gj4.png]]); and the Greek Brothers, aka [[Eduard Alexogiannopoulos|Eduard]] and Alex Alexogiannopoulos, whose Home Composed history includes winning the contest in [[Home Composed Song Contest 2013|2013]] and [[Home Composed Song Contest 2017|2017]] in addition to the special anniversary event, [[30 Years Of HCSC: Greatest Hits]] ([[File:Gj5.png]]).
 
The return of Norway also marked the comeback of [[Home Composed Song Contest 1997|1997]] champion [[Roy Vorland]] as the featured vocalist on [[Gunnar B. Ingebrigtsen]]'s composition "Hold Me, Lord". The collaboration was a successful one: In an incredibly exciting voting sequence that came down to the very last moment, Gunnar and Roy took the crown ahead of one of the [[United Kingdom in the Home Composed Song Contest|British]] representatives, contest debutant Constantinos Karaiskos aka ConstantX, with his song "Love Grow Stronger". Floriana from [[Romania in the Home Composed Song Contest|Romania]] upheld that country's recent strong record in the competition, rounding out the podium positions with "Light Of Day".

Contest overview

Continuing on from his successful hosting of the competition the previous year, Andy Brook from the United Kingdom organised the 2022 edition in cooperation with the reigning champion, CornEL from Romania.

As in 2021, a total of 24 entries were submitted to the competition, although one was subsequently withdrawn. This left a field of 23 songs from 13 countries - including the return of France for the first time in over a decade, and Norway for the first time since 2004! Once again, the competition had its own dedicated website, this time at home-22.com.

The 23 competitor juries were supplemented by an internet-based public vote (shown as Gj1.png in the scoresheet below) and a total of four guest juries: Vladyslav Semenchenko, the President of OGAE Ukraine (Gj2.png); Liam Jarnecki from the United Kingdom, who co-hosted the result presentation shows in 2011 and 2021 (Gj3.png); a jury representing Radio International, who provided their usual kind support for the competition (Gj4.png); and the Greek Brothers, aka Eduard and Alex Alexogiannopoulos, whose Home Composed history includes winning the contest in 2013 and 2017 in addition to the special anniversary event, 30 Years Of HCSC: Greatest Hits (Gj5.png).

The return of Norway also marked the comeback of 1997 champion Roy Vorland as the featured vocalist on Gunnar B. Ingebrigtsen's composition "Hold Me, Lord". The collaboration was a successful one: In an incredibly exciting voting sequence that came down to the very last moment, Gunnar and Roy took the crown ahead of one of the British representatives, contest debutant Constantinos Karaiskos aka ConstantX, with his song "Love Grow Stronger". Floriana from Romania upheld that country's recent strong record in the competition, rounding out the podium positions with "Light Of Day".
