Germany in the Home Composed Song Contest

Germany first participated in the Home Composed Song Contest in 1998 and was most recently represented in the 2024 edition.

Although it took a while for Germany to make its debut, it quickly became the country with the most entries in HCSC history - and by some distance. The 2002 edition featured 15 German entries, more than some years had in total!

For all that, Germany has only won HCSC twice: Achim Wurm submitted the victorious "Genug, genug" by Silviana in 2001, while Stefan Engel and his team took home the trophy six years later. However, the sheer number of German entries over the years means the country has been a regular feature at both ends of the scoreboard, as the colours in the table below illustrate.
